Ex-Works<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

Buyer takes possession of goods at the seller\u2019s premises or at another named place (i.e., works, factory, warehouse, etc.). The seller is not obligated to load the goods on any collecting vehicle, nor does it need to clear the goods for export (where such clearance is required).<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

FCA<\/strong><\/p>

Free Carrier<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

Seller turns over possession of the goods to the carrier or another entity designated by the buyer at the seller\u2019s premises or another named place. The named place of transfer must be clearly identified; the risk passes to the buyer at that point.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

CPT<\/strong><\/p>

Carriage Paid To<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

Seller turns over possession of the goods to the carrier or another entity designated by the seller at an agreed place. The seller must contract for and pay the costs of carriage necessary to bring the goods to the agreed place of transfer.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

CIP<\/strong><\/p>

Carriage and Insurance Paid To<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

The seller turns over possession of goods to the carrier or another entity designated by the seller at an agreed place. The seller must contract for and pay the costs of carriage necessary to bring the goods to the agreed place of transfer. The seller contracts insurance cover against the buyer\u2019s risk of loss of or damage to the goods during the carriage. Under CIP the seller is required to obtain only minimum cover insurance. Should the buyer wish to have more insurance protection, it will need either to agree as much expressly with the seller or to make its own extra insurance arrangements.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

DAP<\/strong><\/p>

Delivered at Place<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

The seller transfers goods to the possession the buyer on the arriving means of transport (truck, vessel, aircraft) ready for unloading at the named place of destination. The seller bears all risks involved in bringing the goods to the named place, including insurance.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

The seller transfers possessions of goods to the buyer, once unloaded, at a named place of destination. The seller bears all risks involved in bringing the goods to, and offloading them at the named place of destination, including insurance.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

DDP<\/strong><\/p>

Delivered Duty Paid<\/strong><\/p><\/th>

The seller delivers and transfers possession of the goods to the buyer, cleared for import on the arriving means of transport (truck, vessel, aircraft) ready for unloading at the named place of destination. The risk of loss of or damage to the goods passes when the goods are alongside the ship, and the buyer bears all costs from that moment onward.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>

The seller turns over possession of the goods on board the vessel nominated by the buyer at the named port of shipment.
